ALLEN’S SCOT HUNGER BACK

UK CHAMPION Mark Allen is up and running at the Scottish Open.

The World No.5 failed to qualify for the German Masters last week after a shock 5-0 defeat to Chinese amateur Zhao Jianbo.

But the Pistol fired himself into the last 64 in Edinburgh with a 4-1 win over Andy Lee yesterday.

It was an incredible 20th win in 22 matches for the left-hander.

“I was looking forward to getting my teeth into a better tournament again with the latter stages in a big arena,” said Antrim ace Allen (above).

“Hopefully the hangover from York’s gone now and I can get back to playing.”
