PEP & POTTER READY FOR A TEST SERIES

-

MANCHESTER CITY will host Chelsea in an FA Cup third-round clash of the heavyweights in January.

Etihad boss Pep Guardiola and his Blues counterpart Graham Potter (above) meet again in one of five all-premier League ties.

City knocked Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup this month and the clubs will play for league points at Stamford Bridge on January 5 – days before their FA Cup showdown.

Holders Liverpool will entertain Wolves, Everton travel to Manchester United, Crystal Palace meet Southampton and Brentford face West Ham.

Premier League leaders Arsenal face a trip to League One Oxford.

National League giant-killers Chesterfield and Boreham Wood failed to earn the money-spinning glamour tie they were craving.

Chesterfield were drawn at home to Championship side West Brom while non-league counterparts Boreham Wood will face Accrington.

Boss Luke Garrard led minnows Boreham Wood all the way to the fifth round last season – and he said: “Accrington probably wanted Liverpool or Man City away. Their boss John Coleman will be devastated.”

National League Dagenham and Redbridge are 90 minutes away from facing a top-flight club in 2021 winners Leicester – provided they get past Gillingham in next week’s replay.

Other eye-catching ties include Tottenham v Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday hosting Newcastle and Leeds heading to Cardiff.
