TROSSARD CHARMS TOON
BY IAN MURTAGH
NEWCASTLE have stepped up their interest in Brighton midfielder Leandro Trossard.
The Magpies ran the rule over Trossard in Belgium’s
2-0 defeat at the hands of Morocco on Sunday.
Despite the Belgians under-performing in the
World Cup so far, Newcastle remain keen on the
27-year-old.
Trossard scored seven goals in 14 games for Brighton during the first half of the Premier League campaign.
Newcastle will face competition from Chelsea and league leaders Arsenal if Brighton decide to cash in on Trossard’s popularity in the New Year.
Those Toon players not involved in the World Cup have returned to training following a two-week break. Eddie Howe’s squad fly out to a warm weather training camp in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
