Desperate trio stow away on tanker rudder

THREE migrants somehow made it to safety after stowing away on the rudder of a ship.

It is unclear how the Nigerians survived on just a few square feet of metal on the oil tanker Alithini II, or whether they spent the whole 11-day voyage just above the North Atlantic.

Suffering from dehydration and hypothermia they were taken to hospital in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.
