APP HELP ON DEBTS

Santander customers are being offered advice if they fall behind with repayments on the bank’s loans.

The firm said customers can fill out a questionnaire via its online and app-based financial health check tool which will then assess their situation.

Also, a new budget calculator will give Santander customers a clear picture of their spending by category.

Natwest and Nationwide have also set up tools to help with cost-of-living rises.

Tiles has unveiled higher annual profits after a second consecutive year of record sales, but flagged a tougher trading outlook. The tile retailer reported a 4% rise in underlying pre-tax profits to £15.6million in the year to October 1 after revenues surged 8.4% to £247.2m. But chief executive Rob Parker said: “We are mindful of the macroeconomic headwinds which will impact both UK consumers and businesses.”
