Cleaners bin dad’s ashes in flat mix-up
A MAN lost all his possessions, including his father’s ashes, when housing association contractors emptied the wrong flat.
Warren Dodds, 29, returned from holiday to discover his home in Newcastle had been stripped bare and his stuff dumped in a skip.
Bernicia Homes had instructed a contractor, Orbis Protect, to clear a vacant flat on another floor of the building.
Bernicia Homes apologised for the “devastating” error, saying it had agreed to compensate Mr Dodds.
The barber, whose dad died nine years ago, said: “All the pictures and memories of my dad are gone.” His mum Jacqui told the BBC: “Our loved one is now lying at the bottom of a skip.”
