Cop ‘flashed Met card and raped driver’

-

AN off-duty Met officer raped a stranger after showing his warrant card and asking about her driving licence, a court heard.

Special Constable Paul Hoile, 45, allegedly attacked the woman on a Shropshire roadside in July after snatching her phone.

Jurors heard he was staying in the area and was drunk at the time.

Wolverhampton crown court was told Hoile said she would be in “more trouble” if she hit him.

Prosecutor Caroline Goodwin KC said Hoile, of Benfleet, Essex, “hid behind” his police powers.

He says sex was consensual, denying misconduct and three counts of rape.

The trial continues.
