Corrie death tram has got a new home

- BY STEPHEN WHITE

THE tram that killed Coronation Street villain Alan Bradley has a new home after a public appeal to raise cash to save it.

More than 27 million viewers watched Alan, played by Mark Eden, get hit by a tram on Blackpool prom in December 1989.

It brought an end to his abuse of Rita Fairclough, played by Barbara Knox.

The tram went up for sale in June after its previous home, Fleetwood Heritage Leisure Trust, had to move their premises.

A public appeal raised £2,500 to move the tram, which was built in 1934, to a new home in the Tramtown Museum, Blackpool.

Paul Galley, chairman of Blackpool Transport, which owns the museum, said: “It was really important we save that tram.”
