TOON’S CUP TIE CLASH IS SELL-OUT

- BY IAN MURTAGH

NEWCASTLE’S Carabao Cup tie against Bournemouth on December 21 is a complete sell-out.

The in-form Magpies attracted their biggest-ever crowd in the competition when 51,660 saw them beat Crystal Palace on penalties in the previous round.

But the visit of the former club of boss Eddie Howe (right) will eclipse that.

“Seats for the fourth-round tie initially went on sale to season-ticket holders and members and sold out soon after going on general sale,” said a Toon spokesman.

And, with the feelgood factor at an all-time high at St James’s Park, Newcastle are expecting more than 25,000 when Spanish side Rayo Vallecano are the visitors in a 12.30pm friendly four days earlier.
