Stop cruel cull

EXTENDING the badger cull to Dorset from Gloucestershire and Somerset is a victory for the farming lobby over scientific evidence.

Dairy farmers battling TB in cows deserve sympathy and support but shooting healthy wild animals is a kneejerk answer that is unlikely to work.

Protesters on the ground and rock star campaigner Brian May, considering legal action, act for many in opposing this cruel cull.

We should cherish the countryside, including badgers, instead of paying for hunters to kill every animal that strays into their gun-sights – whether it is healthy or not.
