Yoko denies Lennon had a gay affair
A FRENCH fighter jet shadows a UK-bound passenger plane – flying so close to it terrified passengers can see its pilot.
The snaps show the drama as the Monarch Airlines flight was intercepted after losing contact with air traffic control while crossing French airspace.
Caroline Regan, 71, from Selly Park, Birmingham, was aboard with husband Tony, 70. She said of Monday’s fright: “It was right by our window. It was so close you could see the pilot. It seemed to follow us and there was a slight panic.”
She added that the pilot of their Airbus A320 did not explain the fighter’s presence.
The Monarch jet was en route to Birmingham from Madeira in Portugal. A spokesman for the airline said: “Communication had been re-established by the time the intercept occurred.” YOKO Ono has quashed rumours her late husband John Lennon had an affair with the Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein.
She said Lennon spoke a lot about bisexuality and “had a desire” to be with men – but never was.
Lennon went on holiday to Spain with Epstein in 1963 when the singer’s then wife Cynthia was pregnant with their son Julian.
Lennon denied the pair had sex but admitted their relationship was “intense”.
Yoko, 82, said: “I was told a very explicit story about what happened but I think they didn’t have it [sex].”
She said she still feared for her life and had guards whenever she went out.
And she would be concerned if Mark Chapman, who murdered Lennon in 1980, was ever released.
She said: “It’s difficult for me to think about Chapman, as he doesn’t seem to think that was a bad thing to do.”
