‘Scary’ Walcott wins Per’s vote
THEO WALCOTT is primed to continue “scaring” defenders as he warms to his role as Arsenal’s main striker.
That’s the view of Gunners’ centrehalf Per Mertesacker, who has seen Walcott hit seven goals in nine games for club and country.
The German said: ”In the centre, Theo is always one against two.
”So he needs to find his way and his spaces and the pockets where he can be dangerous.
“And if Theo plays up front that will always be more in behind defenders, forcing them back because they will always be scared of the space behind.”
