Relatives weep as ‘death kit’ shown

THESE are the bags in which Becky Watts’ cut-up body was hidden along with bloodstained tools in a garden shed.

Relatives of the tragic 16-yearold wept as a bloodied jumper cut right down the back, found in one case, was shown at her murder trial yesterday alongside the luggage.

Jurors were also shown an 8,300volt stun gun, which they were told was taken to Becky’s home by her step-brother Nathan Matthews, 28, and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare, 21, both accused over her death.

A circular saw allegedly used to cut up her body was in a pink and grey case found in the shed at a property near the couple’s home.

In the same case were cleaning products, T-shirts and jeans.

A rucksack contained a onesie, kitchen knife, drain-cleaner bottles and pliers – all bloodstained – as well as a screwdriver, masks, handcuffs, safety goggles, scissors, a make- up brush and a shower curtain. In a black case were more clothes and a bloodied duvet cover.

Becky’s body and head were found in plastic bags inside the luggage in Bristol 11 days after she vanished in February from the home she shared with dad Darren Galsworthy and step-mum Anjie.

She was allegedly suffocated in her bedroom and put in the boot of Matthews and Hoare’s car.

Matthews told police he killed Becky and Hoare was not involved, but prosecutors claim they acted as a team. The day after Becky died Hoare searched “Do you want to hide a body” while using an email address in her name, the jury heard.

Matthews, of Warmley, Glos, denies murder and conspiracy to kidnap. He admits killing Becky, possessing a prohibited weapon, preventing burial of a corpse and perverting justice. Hoare, of Bristol, denies all these charges. The trial continues at Bristol crown court.
