Hols boy, 4, drowned in indoor pool
A BOY of four drowned in an indoor swimming pool shortly after arriving with his dad and stepmum at their holiday resort.
Keenan Walsh’s father James told an inquest the two of them had played in the shallow end until his son got out. He dried him and saw him enter a changing room. “This was the last time I saw Keenan alive,” he said.
Mr Walsh stayed at the pool with his other children and one shouted that somebody was at the bottom.
Non-swimmer Keenan, looking “lifeless”, was pulled out and CPR was performed but he was declared dead in hospital the next day.
Keenan, of Uxbridge, West London, was in a large party including 12 children at four-star Bicclescombe Grange, near Ilfracombe, Devon, in August 2013. The inquest in Exeter continues.
