Horror after family of five is found dead
TWO primary teachers have been found dead with their three young sons in a suspected murder-suicide.
Police called to the house by a worried relative discovered the bodies of Clodagh and Alan Hawe downstairs.
Their sons Liam, 13, Niall, 11, and Ryan, six, were found dead in their bedrooms.
It is believed some victims had been stabbed to death.
Irish police said they were not looking for anyone in connection with the killings in Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan.
Garda assistant commissioner John O’Driscoll said: “The most likely scenario is that one person in that house may have caused the death of the others.”
Mr Hawe taught at St Mary’s School in nearby Castlerahan. Principal Anne Foley said: “This is a terrible tragedy for the family, our school and community.”
