Secret thrills

BBC1 has commissioned a threepart drama adaptation of Jessie Burton’s novel The Miniaturist.

The haunting period thriller tells the story of a house where, beneath the lavish beauty and privilege, lie forbidden passions and dangerous secrets.

Actress-author Burton’s debut novel was named Book of the Year by Waterstones in 2014.
