PREGNANT & FED UP WITH HIS MOTHER
Dear Coleen
I’m seven months pregnant with my first child, and my mother-in-law is already driving me mad.
When I first announced my pregnancy she was over the moon – back then we had a really good, if somewhat distant, relationship.
Now she’s become very overbearing and involved.
She phoned my husband the other night to find out what I was planning to do work-wise, and when he said I’d probably go back parttime after the baby was born, she told him this was a bad idea.
She then texted me to say the same thing. Now she keeps making comments about how I must breastfeed, and tells me what I should and shouldn’t be eating.
I feel like telling her where to go, but I don’t want to start a fight.
Should I just bite my tongue?
