Kane turns the corners

STILL no joy for Tottenham’s perennial slow starter Harry Kane, who has never scored a Premier League goal in August – spanning 10 games and 628 minutes.

But don’t despair, all is not lost for One Of Our Own.

From his holiday hideaway in a Cleethorpes caravan park, one fugitive ex-England manager has a cunning plan to help Mauricio Pochettino get the most out of Kane (the pair above) while he polishes his shooting boots. Get him to take the corners. It worked a treat at the Euros.

THIS clampdown on wrestling, throttling and shirt-pulling at corners is terrific for football. When the pilot scheme currently being tested in Stoke is rolled out across the rest of the country, it might even be fair.
