Hart quits City to join Serie A minnows Torino in a shock deal

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

JOE HART is quitting Manchester City to join Torino on loan.

Goalkeeper Hart jetted out to Italy last night to complete his season-long switch after being dumped by City boss Pep Guardiola (above).

The England No.1 was given permission by Sam Allardyce to leave the Three Lions squad and is expected to return to St George’s Park later today.

Hart, 29, has opted for Torino ahead of Sunderland because he feels playing this season in Serie A can resurrect his club career. He had no

interest in being part of a relegation battle at Sunderland, even though he respects boss David Moyes.

City agreed terms with Torino last night after talks lasting all day and have waived a loan fee.

The Blues will also pay most of Hart’s £120,000-aweek wages and were keen to do everything possible to give their longest-serving player the move he wanted.

Torino, seventh in Serie A after two games this campaign, feel landing England keeper Hart will be a real coup.

City striker Sergio Aguero should find out today if he will face an FA charge and possible three-match ban for his alleged elbow on West Ham’s Winston Reid.
