Ice Road star Darrell killed
A STAR of cult reality TV show Ice Road Truckers has died alongside his co-pilot as he flew home.
Darrell Ward was heading to Missoula, Montana, after meeting fans in Texas when the Cessna 182-D came to grief near Rock Creek Airport.
The 52-year-old had been a featured driver for the past five seasons of the show which follows drivers battling to supply remote spots in Canada. The latest series on Channel 5 had around 900,000 viewers an episode. A show spokesman said: “Darrell Ward will be greatly missed.” Mr Ward had been due to film a show about plane wreck recoveries. His co-pilot hasn’t been named.
