WE all know celebrities lap up attention, but here they are sharing the limelight with their favourite four-legged friends.

Stars of music, movies, sport and television were pictured with their pets to help the Dogs Trust charity celebrate its 125th anniversary.

The Trust’s new book, Dogs And Their Faithful Celebrities, introduces us to adorable pets and their adoring owners to raise funds to help the trust to rehome less fortunate hounds.

Dogs like Frankie, the pug-terrier cross now giving lots of love and laughter to actress Hayley Tamaddon.

Her boyfriend, actor Joe Tracini, 28, is one of Frankie’s biggest fans. Hayley says: “He often pretends to do my dog’s voice, it’s hilarious.” Sounds grrrr-eat. Dogs & Their Faithful Celebrities, by Dogs Trust, (Blink Publishing, £9.99), Waterstones, WHSmith, and Amazon. ANGELA GRIFFIN AND SMITH

Smith, the actress’s cavapoo – poodle and Cavalier King Charles spaniel cross – looks like butter wouldn’t melt, but he is actually quite a rascal. Brief Encounters star Angela, 40, reveals: “The naughtiest thing Smith has ever done is eat my husband’s £250 Prada glasses while he was in the shower.” HAYLEY TAMADDON AND FRANKIE

Actress Hayley, 39, who played Del Dingle in Emmerdale, will never forget the first time she met her pug-terrier cross, which she adopted from the Dogs Trust. She says: “Picking him up, he was so excited he weed everywhere.” CARLEY STENSON WITH BAILEY AND BARNEY

The Hollyoaks star’s dogs Bailey and Barney are both cockapoos, but have very different personalities.

The 34-year-old actress says: “Barney is a diva when he wants to be left alone. He does this grumpy little moan.

“Bailey’s a little tinker and his barking rant is very diva-ish, although he’s wagging his tail too.”

She says her fiance, Hollyoaks star Danny Mac, 28, immediately knew Barney would be the perfect pet when they saw a little heart-shaped patch on his head, declaring: “That’s our boy”.

But Carley says: “Barney’s just a stubborn teenager and won’t come back when shouted sometimes because he would rather chase a bird.” GEMMA ATKINSON AND NORMAN

Emmerdale actress Gemma, 31, thinks Norman, her sproodle – springer spaniel poodle cross – is super-intelligent.

And she reckons she knows exactly what Norman’s voice would sound like, if he could actually talk, that is.

Gemma, who joined Emmerdale last year, says: “Celeb voice wise I think the late Robin Williams would have been great.

“He had the crazy, funny wild side to his voice, but also that soft, gentle side and Norman has all those qualities.”

He also has a naughty streak, and once chewed “at least 14 holes” in a new throw. But Gemma still calls him “my best friend”. It lo just Ben
