NO PRIVACY FOR HARRY
# It was inevitable, I guess, that Prince Harry has been forced to issue his statement (Mirror, November 9). Any woman he declares his love for will be subjected to the same public interest, and he must be feeling pretty sad and helpless that Meghan Markle is on the opposite side of the world and he can’t protect her the way he would want to.
Remember, he’s seen it all before with his mother and it must bring back some fearful memories for him.
People need to let him find the happiness he deserves. We all owe him that. Sue Lear, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
# It’s Remembrance time again, when we commemorate the millions who died in two World Wars and in other battles worldwide.
But don’t these ceremonies, with their military paraphernalia, glorify war and perpetuate a warlike mentality and not a peaceful one?
Instead, shouldn’t we, in quiet reflection, remember the dead as human beings and part of the military?
If we could strip war of all its glory, like Wilfred Owen, the poet killed in the First World War did in his work, perhaps we wouldn’t be so keen to continually go to war. Gareth Rowlands Powys, Mid Wales # It was very sad to hear about the passing of Jimmy Young (Mirror, November 8).
He was a good singer and an exceptional DJ – one of BBC Radio 2’s most popular.
RIP Jimmy and God bless. Ann and Mike Minchella Scarborough North Yorkshire
