POCH CAN TAKE IT TO THE MAX

- BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

MOUSSA SISSOKO says “all the lights are green” and he is finally ready to put his foot down and get his Spurs career up and running.

The France midfielder joined Spurs from Newcastle in a dramatic £30million deadline-day deal when he snubbed Everton in favour of a move to north London.

Sissoko was France’s standout player in the Euro 2016 final, which they lost 1-0 to Portugal, but he has struggled to reproduce that form since joining Spurs.

He hasn’t been helped by a delayed start to the campaign because of the Euros and being forced out by injury and suspension. But Sissoko said: “Today, all the lights are green.

“It’s true that there have been a lot of mishaps – my late signing, my lack of preparation for the season, my blow to the head against Middlesbrough and this suspension.

“All that now is behind me. I have come out grown-up.

“When I arrived, I felt that my team-mates were aware of the amount of my transfer.

“I was not just any player, but I ignore all of that talk.

“I was not at the top when I signed, but that’s normal. They all worked well this summer while I had a mini-preparation.”

Sissoko has played just one of Tottenham’s last four games TOTTENHAM are keen on a January move for Schalke’s Max Meyer. The highly-rated German striker, 21, revealed Mauricio Pochettino came in for him during the summer. Meyer (left) said: ”The club was asked, but Schalke immediately put a stop to it.”
