THIS is the first photo of Sir Mick Jagger’s newborn son, who he has named Deveraux Octavian Basil.

A picture of the baby, Sir Mick’s eighth child, appeared on his daughter Lizzy Jagger’s Instagram account.

The model added the caption: “My beautiful baby brother Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger.”

Deveraux is derived from Evreux, a town in Normandy, France. Octavian is a Latin name meaning born eighth.

And Basil was the first name of the Rolling Stone rocker’s father, who died in 2006, although he was known as Joe.

Sir Mick became a father again at the age of 73 on December 8, with his partner, ballerina Melanie Hamrick, 29.

The couple have been dating since 2014, when they were pictured in Zurich during the Stones’ 14 On Fire European tour. They got together after the death in 2014 of fashion designer L’Wren Scott, Sir Mick’s partner of 13 years.

It is thought Melanie became pregnant when she joined the band as a guest in Mexico earlier this year.

The rocker flew from London to New York to be by the dancer’s side for the birth.

A source said: “He made sure he was there. He wouldn’t have missed it for the world. His number one priority is Melanie and the child.”

The new arrival was confirmed by the star’s publicist Bernard Doherty last week. A statement said: “Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger’s son was born today in New York and they are both delighted. Mick was at the hospital for the arrival.” Sir Mick’s eldest children are daughters Karis, from his relationship with Marsha Hunt, and Jade, who he had with his ex-wife Bianca.

The singer, a great-grandfather, had four children with model Jerry Hall – Lizzy, James, Georgia and Gabriel.

He also had a son, Lucas, following a fling with Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez Morad. That liaison ended Sir Mick’s 22-year relationship with Jerry.

Meanwhile, the veteran rocker had another reason to celebrate recently, when the Stones’ latest album, Blue and Lonesome, topped the UK charts.

WRINKLY rocker Mick Jagger has travelled a long way from his gritty roots in Dartford, Kent, to land his eighth child with the ridiculous sounding name Deveraux Octavian Basil.

Octavian is Latin for eighth-born so when the poor boy grows up he’ll be relieved Mick didn’t just name him after the mints or a bus route.
