Conte calls on Kol after Bran exit

- BY JOHN CROSS

CHELSEA are trying to rush through a deal for Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, after Branislav Ivanovic agreed to join Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is trying to gazump former club Juventus in the battle to sign the left-back.

Chelsea have granted Ivanovic (above) a free transfer and the longserving defender has now agreed a two-and-a-halfyear contract at Zenit.

Kolasinac, 23, has won 17 caps for Bosnia, having previously played at Under-20 level for Germany. He can operate at left-back or centre-back.

He is out of contract in the summer so Bundesliga side Schalke are ready for an immediate sale.

SUNDERLAND landed left-back Bryan Oviedo and midfielder Darron Gibson in a joint £7.5million deal with Everton yesterday.

Injury-prone Gibson is on an 18-month contract, and Oviedo three-anda-half years.

Black Cats boss David Moyes said: “Every player coming in to Sunderland is a bit of a gamble.” TIM KRUL is being lined up to join Watford today.

Newcastle have offered the Holland keeper, 28, to Premier League clubs after he failed to play even once on loan at Ajax.

The Hornets lead Crystal Palace in the chase for Krul (left) after firstchoice keeper Costel Pantilimon was carried off with a leg injury in Sunday’s FA Cup defeat at Millwall.
