Midnight will go on Ayr raid
SAM TWISTONDAVIES was the star of the show at Wincanton yesterday with a near 12-1 four-timer.
Twiston-Davies, who will partner Saphir Du Rheu in the Grand National, drove Copain De Classe (6-5f), Antartica De Thaix (4-9f) and Winningtry (4-5f) to victory for Paul Nicholls and scored on How’s Vienna (5-4f) for David Dennis. SEEYOUATMIDNIGHT is set for the Scottish Grand National at Ayr on April 22 after pleasing trainer Sandy Thomson with a second over hurdles at Kelso on Saturday.
The nine-year-old was having his first outing since being pulled up in the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park in November, and Thomson said: “It was as good a run as I’d hoped for.”
