Dolphin to make a splash

-

FLAT racing never goes away these days, but this weekend is special — they race on some strange stuff called grass for the first time since last November.

Doncaster is the course staging the Betway Lincoln (3.35) as usual and it’s a race brimming with all-important statistics.

They tell us today’s winner will fit these trends: Aged six or younger. Carrying 9st 4lb or less. Ran in a handicap last time out.

Winner over at least today’s trip of 1m.

Won between two and four times.

Trained north of the Trent or at Newmarket.

Take that little lot on board and it looks like Northern-based trainers could be celebrating as we have only two qualifiers — Jedd O’Keeffe’s Instant Attraction and the Richard Fahey-trained Dolphin Vista.

They are drawn 15 and 10 respectively, so they should both get a decent lead as the 22-runner field are likely to run in the one group up the middle of the track.

Instant Attraction

has run well at this meeting over the past two seasons, running a fine third in the Spring Mile last year and occupied the same place the year before over a furlong less.

He is a weak finisher, however, while DOLPHIN

VISTA has form over further and runs on strongly at the business end.

You can be sure Paul Hanaghan will have him ideally positioned, so have 2pts win at 14-1 where you can get it.
