It’s Snod just about one player..

SILVA SAYS HAMMERS HAVE A LOT MORE WEAPONS THAN EX-TIGER AND FAN-TARGET ROB

ROBERT SNODGRASS will receive a hot reception from Hull fans – but boss Marco Silva is making no special plans for his return.

The Scottish winger quit Hull in January and is making his first return to the KCOM Stadium today.

West Ham paid Tigers £10million for the playmaker, who had made it clear he wanted out.

But Portuguese boss Silva has refused to put the boot into Snodgrass, who grabbed 12 goals for Hull before leaving.

“He did good work here and now he is our opponent,” said Silva, who is desperate for Hull to haul themselves out of trouble this week – fellow strugglers Middlesbrough visit on Wednesday.

“We like him of course but now he is our opponent and my focus is on my players and my team only.

“All of us at the club were disappointed he left, but he has left.

“We don’t want to put all the focus on him. Our opponents have a lot of players with good quality. “When the game starts he is one player in the other team and what is important is our players.

“If I have one plan only for Snodgrass, maybe I’ll forget the others and I don’t want to do that. “We’ve prepared to face one team, not one player.

“West Ham have very good players and we’ve prepared for the game by focusing on our squad. That’s most important.”

Silva (above) has Tom Huddlestone suspended for three games following his red card against Everton. The Tigers chief was annoyed that the tackle on Idrissa Gueye was punished by dismissal, and that a subsequent appeal was unsuccessful.

“We appealed because it was our obligation to do so,” said Silva.

“It wasn’t only my opinion. I also listened to the opinions of other managers.

“But we have to accept the decision. We don’t have Tom for the next three games and have to find solutions.

“He’s an important player for us in an important position but it’s a moment for other players to come in and show me they are ready as well.”

David Meyler will fill Huddlestone’s place and Silva could field two strikers with Abel Hernandez and Oumar Niasse available.

Even a win won’t lift Hull out of the bottom three but the home double-header is a chance to take a giant step towards safety.
