Zlatan: It’s all over

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC accepts his Manchester United career is over and is looking at playing in America.

Ibrahimovic faces between nine and 12 months out with a ruptured cruciate ligament

and knows that time-frame rules out playing again for United.

Though 35, the Swede, United’s top scorer with 28 goals, is determined to play again and wants to make his comeback in the MLS.

Ibrahimovic has always said he would end his glittering career in America and received offers from MLS clubs, including new franchise Los Angeles FC, before he was injured.

Ibrahimovic had stalled on United’s offer of another 12-month deal because he was concerned they would miss out on the Champions League – his current deal ends on June 30.

Mentally he has already moved on from United, although the club have generously offered him the use of their medical facilities to aid his recovery.

The former Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan hit-man needs an operation to rebuild his shattered knee and is expected to travel to the US for surgery.

Old Trafford team-mate Ander Herrera has backed Ibrahimovic to make a full recovery.

“I have no doubt he will be back because he loves football, he loves to win, and he loves to score goals,” said the Spaniard.
