PULIS TO TROY HARDER FOR HORNETS’ DEENEY WAR A FLY GUY FOR BLUEBIRDS

- BY JAMES NURSEY

WEST BROM are ready to return for Watford striker Troy Deeney.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis admits he is unsure Albion can afford England ace Jermain Defoe, 34, who is leaving relegated Sunderland. Mirror Sport understands a move for unsettled Hornets hitman Deeney, 28, (left) is far more likely after Albion failed in bid for him last year – as Deeney is no longer guaranteed a start for Watford NEIL WARNOCK will jet to Malaysia to lay down his promotion blueprint to Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan.

Warnock’s (left) steered Bluebirds to 13th in the Championship from second bottom since taking over.

DERBY boss Gary Rowett is interested in Liverpool fullback Andre Wisdom – but not at £4m. Wisdom (right), 23, has spent this season on loan at Red Bull Salzburg and was on loan at Derby three years ago. Rowett (below right) said: “He has Premier League potential but the values are more than we would be looking at.” LIONEL MESSI has won his appeal against a fourmatch international ban.

The Barcelona star was suspended for insulting an assistant referee during Argentina’s World Cup qualifier against Chile in March (above).

FIFA’s appeal committee described Messi’s behaviour as “reproachable” but overturned the original decision based on TV images as the incident was missed by match officials.

He served one match of the ban, missing Argentina’s 2-0 defeat in Bolivia but will be free to return immediately.
