PULIS: IT’S COOL TO GO MAD ON TOUCHLINE NOW

- JAMES NURSEY

TONY PULIS reckons Antonio Conte’s success at Chelsea has made it fashionable for bosses to go “mad” on the touchline. Conte has been a revelation at Stamford Bridge since arriving last summer after managing Italy at Euro 2016.

The 47-year-old is one of the game’s most colourful, passionate bosses on the touchline and Baggies manager Pulis admitted: “It is funny how things spin around.

“Seven or eight years ago Arsene Wenger (right) was an absolute genius – he was a teacher and a prophet.

“He sat there and never got involved in the game and just worked things out from his seat.

“Now Conte is an absolute genius going mad and bouncing up and down on the touchline.” Pulis has vowed his side will put up a fight to prevent Chelsea wrapping up the league this evening. He is still trying to guide eighthplaced Albion to their best-ever Premier League points total – the tally of 49 set back in 2013. Pulis added: “Chelsea have been fantastic this year, they have been pretty entertaining. “You have to give Chelsea great credit for being in with a chance to win the Double, they deserve to be where they are. “They have been the most consistent team in the league this year. “But we will give it our best, we have a responsibility to our supporters , we are still chasing a points tally to keep us in eighth. “We have a lot to play for and are really looking forward to the game.”
