VICTIMS OF THE BOMBER
Hero gave life to save family Dad’s joy over ‘little princess’
COURAGEOUS Kelly Brewster BRAVE Kelly Brewster sacrificed her life to protect her niece and sister from the Manchester terror blast.
Her uncle, Paul Dryhurst, said Kelly “heroically shielded” her niece Hollie, 11, and her sister Claire Booth, 34.
Civil servant Kelly, 32, of Sheffield, had just put a deposit down on a new home with boyfriend Ian Winslow, and the couple had been trying for a baby, before she was killed.
Her friend, Vicky Smith, said: “When the explosion went off, Kelly sort of fell, chucked herself almost, over both her sister and her niece.
“Whether that was just natural instinct, either way, that’s the protection that she gave to them.”
Hollie’s grandmother Tracy Booth, 54, from Sheffield, said: “She was a hero. I would not have my granddaughter if it was not for her.”
Ian said: “I’m still trying to get my head round Kelly being swept up in this. It doesn’t feel real.” VISIT Evie Mills with Theresa May A DAD has spoken of his joy at seeing his “little princess” recovering in hospital from wounds sustained during the atrocity.
Craig Mills, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, posted a pic of daughter Evie, 14, in a ward bed following an operation to repair “serious” damage to her legs and chest.
Craig said Evie’s treatment had been the “scariest 24 hours of my life”. He wrote on Facebook: “Without a doubt the scariest 24 hours of my life, the good news is the surgery went well. It’s rest all day tomorrow but needs another op Thursday.”
Evie’s brother Cal wrote: “So so lucky she’s going to be okay but she’s been in hospital all night now with quite serious damage to her legs and chest. Some sick b ****** has caused E to experience something she’ll never ever forget...”
Craig also posted a picture of PM Theresa May visiting Evie’s bedside.
