JORDAN TURNER grabbed a debut try as Huddersfield cruised to victory.

His score was one of eight tries – with Jake Mamo (above, right) also touching down – as the Giants brushed aside weary Warrington, who looked to be feeling the effects of a third match in nine days.

And a third successive heavy defeat turned the heat up on Wolves boss Tony Smith.

He said: “I don’t want to make excuses. They were the better team and I would rather say that and congratulate them than take anything away from their performance.” UNDERSTRENGTH Castleford underlined their Super League title credentials by digging deep to overcome St Helens.

Tigers coach Daryl Powell said: “It’s one of the biggest wins I’ve been involved in.”

He rested four key players amid a gruelling schedule and had only a try by debutant Kieran Gill (above, centre) to celebrate in the first half as Saints crossed through Mark Percival and Louie McCarthyScarsbrook to take a 12-4 lead.

But England forward Mike McMeeken set up a tense final 20 minutes and Tom Holmes earned Cas a notable victory.

MASON CATON-BROWN returned to haunt his former club by scoring a hat-trick to help put Wakefield back into the top four.
