Sick of Trump’s tweet nothings

- FIONA PARKER Edited by

#Donald Trump’s totally unjustified attack on London Mayor Sadiq Khan is completely unacceptable.

Taking the mayor’s “no reason to be alarmed” remark out of the context in which it was meant – to reassure Londoners about the increased armed police presence – was quite appalling and an insult to a respected and honourable man at a very difficult time.

To then compound this defamation by referring to the real context as “a pathetic excuse” is quite disgraceful.

In almost everything he says and does Trump seems to demean the office of US President. This odious person should not be invited to come here on a state visit. Paul Methven Winscombe, Somerset

#As an American citizen, I would like to apologise for the outrageous and ill-informed comments of President Donald Trump. Like many Americans, I am deeply embarrassed by this administration. The people of the USA of all faiths, creeds and political opinions stand with the people of the UK against terrorism. It’s unfortunate that this president has the ability to spread his brand of misinformation and racism across the world. I hope the UK will withdraw the invitation for a state visit. Her Majesty the Queen and the leaders and people of the UK should not be subjected to this ignorant fool. Lauren MacCarthy Shirley, Massachusetts, USA

#How dare Donald Trump keep slandering the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

The sooner this awful man’s four years as president are over the better – for the whole world. He is a disgrace to the USA and I’m sure many people regret voting for him.

I wish our Government would refuse him entry to our country. D Hughesdon, South London

#What has Donald Trump actually done since becoming President, apart from igniting Twitter feuds with leading politicians of other countries? He should have his phone taken away from him.

If he behaves like a child, he deserves to be treated like one.

Grow up, Trump, and do some work for a change. L Bennett, Harrow, Gtr London

#If I were Donald Trump, I’d leave the Twitter button alone. Every time he uses it he just makes a fool of himself. I, for one, don’t want him here. Martin McCaul Leigh, Gtr Manchester

#Donald Trump makes a mockery of the great office of President of the United States.

Sadiq Khan was spot-on to slap him down by questioning how he has the time to be constantly on Twitter. I feel genuinely sorry for the people of America who must be so embarrassed by his behaviour. Keith Potts, Hull

#Following Trump’s latest Twitter outburst, I ask, do we really want this clown to visit our country? And, yes, we really must do something about extremists on the internet. Frank Keys Wilbarston Northants
