KIDS HAVE GOT WINNING FEELING
AIDY BOOTHROYD has insisted the “tide is turning” towards England being winners.
The Under-21 coach says his side are set to emulate the success of the World Cup-winning U-20 side and the U-17s who reached their Euro final.
England kick-off their UEFA Euro championship finals campaign against holders Sweden tonight.
Boothroyd said: “The players are ready to end their U-21 careers on a massive high. The tide is changing among the age-group teams.
“We have had success and we want to prove ourselves against the best in Europe.”
Chelsea kid Lewis Baker (right), who has spent two years on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, says he wants to take his chance in the spotlight.
Midfielder Baker said: “It is a great opportunity. I hope to open some eyes after two years abroad.”
