CRACKER JACK

Hobbs is the choice for Prince Of Wales’s glory

- BY NEWSBOY

JACK HOBBS can hit the bookies for six by landing the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (4.20, ITV) at Royal Ascot.

The son of Halling, emphatic winner of the 2015 Irish Derby, was sidelined for most of last season with a fractured pelvis. But John Gosden nursed Jack Hobbs back to register a handsome victory in the Dubai Sheema Classic on Meydan’s World Cup undercard in March.

Will Buick’s mount will be right at home under the conditions and can beat main rival Highland Reel to land today’s feature.

LAUGH ALOUD won with authority at Epsom and will be very hard to beat.

Although beaten in a Listed event at Kempton in April, she laughed at her opposition in the same grade at Goodwood the following month.

Laugh Aloud then took in the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom and scooted away from Absolute Blast for a fivelength margin.

John Gosden’s filly is a long way from the bottom of the barrel and the hattrick beckons. Qemah

won last year’s Coronation Stakes but may be better with give in the ground, a comment that could also apply to Usherette,

who won this 12 months ago. Smart Call

ran well at York on her British debut and merits a second look.
