Allergy blow for the young
HAY fever is twice as likely to affect people under the age of 34 as those over 55, research shows.
Some 48% of young adults have had a seasonal allergy in the past year compared to 25% of those in the older group, say analysts Mintel.
Region also plays a role, with 46% of Londoners suffering against a UK average of 39%. Mintel’s Lucy Cornford, said: “Older adults may have learned to avoid certain triggers.”
