Wimbledon terror block
A RING of steel and concrete has been thrown around the Wimbledon tennis championships to ward off terror attacks.
Security at the tournament, starting on Monday, is set to be the tightest seen.
Precautions include giant security gates where spectators face searches to a line of blocks to protect the famous queue from a jihadi vehicle onslaught.
Armed police with sniffer dogs will walk the grounds. Supt Jo Edwards, leading the Met operation, said: “Recent terror attacks are at the forefront of our minds.”
Meanwhile, roads have been shut in Hyde Park as security is stepped up for a series of star-studded concerts.
