JOSH TYMON is adamant he can quit Hull to join Stoke on a Bosman – but the Tigers insist he is still under contract.

Hull claim Tymon triggered a 12-month extension in December 2016 to his £160-a-week scholarship contract, keeping him at the KCOM Stadium until the end of June 2018. The 18-year-old defender disputes this, claiming he is free to move.

It is understood Stoke have agreed terms with Tymon and hope to announce his capture as soon as possible.

Potters boss Mark Hughes feels Tymon, who broke into Hull’s first team earlier this year, can challenge Erik Pieters for the left-back role.

PEP GUARDIOLA claims he struggled in his first season at Manchester City because he was forced to play with so many of his predecessor’s squad.
