James Bond in Cara chase
Studio wants model as next 007 girl
MODEL Cara Delevingne is being eyed up for the next Bond girl role.
The Londoner, 24, has caught the attention of bosses at MGM film studios, who think she could play a more “kick-ass” character than the traditional 007 love interest. Executives believe Cara looks the part, and is building her acting credentials after roles in movies Paper Towns, Pan and Suicide Squad.
A film studio source in London said: “Cara’s value really has exploded in a short time in Hollywood.
“Her transition into acting has been astonishing. MGM mostly like to pick actresses on the cusp of becoming big and help that push. Cara ticks many boxes. She appeals to a younger audience, has screen fighting experience and is English, too. “They feel she could play a fierce spy working alongside the main protagonist. This role would not be arm candy, but a kick-ass, strong character.” London-based Eon Productions – which makes the films for distributor MGM – and executive producer Barbara Broccoli have yet to sign off on Cara, but Broccoli is understood be a fan. Daniel Craig, 49, is yet to confirm if he will play the super-spy for a fifth time, after being offered a reported £76million to return.
