Tying up all the loose ends in a killer finale

LAST night’s ITV series finale of Killer Women With Piers Morgan was one of his best yet. The case of Sheila Davalloo, who is currently serving 75 years for murder and attempted murder, twisted and turned before finally unfurling like a classic episode of Columbo.

However – and speaking of men in dirty macs – the main thing I came away with was a nagging suspicion about what Piers gets up to when the cameras are off.

The voice on the recording sounded rather familiar.

And it sounded even more familiar to the jury when they heard the tape again, having spent weeks listening to Davalloo’s distinctiv­e drawl.

With gobsmackin­g bravado Davalloo attempted to brush it off by actually claiming: “They say Harry Connick Jr and Frank Sinatra sound alike.”

Funnily enough, the jury didn’t see it her way.
