Monaco’s Lemar not Gunner go
ARSENAL target Thomas Lemar is going nowhere, says Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.
The French champions insist they have pulled up the shutters after seeing a several stars prised away.
Manchester City have bought playmaker Bernardo Silva and leftback Benjamin Mendy for £95million from Monaco.
And Chelsea have gone shopping at the club for £40m midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Monaco have also lost strikers Valerie Germain and Corentin Jean, winger Nabil Dirar and centre-back Abdou Diallo permanently.
But Vasilyev insists that is the end of the sales.
His remarks come as Arsenal are poised to make an improved £50m bid to land winger Lemar.
Vasilyev said: “He stays with us. We have kept all of the key players we want.”
Brazilian midfielder Fabinho had also been linked with a move to Manchester United, but Vasilyev insisted: “Fabinho stays, he is an essential player in the midfield.”
And Monaco aim to keep teenage strike sensation Kylian Mbappe. Vasilyev added: “We are discussing an extension with Kylian.”
