Haggas ace can be International star

-

SQUATS gets the vote to spring a surprise in the Gigaset International Handicap (3.00) at Ascot.

The William Haggastrained (right) five-yearold hasn’t been in winning action since September 2014, which is probably why he can be backed at 28-1 for this seven-furlong contest.

But Squats finished second in the race 12 months ago, and has excuses for his three defeats in 2017, including when never able to land a blow over five furlongs here two weeks ago.

Simon Crisford’s horses are flying, and CENTURY DREAM has a bold shout of racking up a hat-trick in the Porsche Handicap (2.25). Ryan Moore’s mount has responded to a hood and tongue strap combination to win one-mile handicaps at Doncaster and Ayr on his last two starts. Century Dream is 5lb higher as a result of that latter success, but is on a roll and there is more to come. Moore can initiate a TV double NYALETI aboard in the opening Group 3 Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes (1.50). My selection has finished second to the Aidan O’Brien pair September and Clemmie on her last two outings, but should be up to going one better. SUCCESS DAYS

At York, has strong claims in the featured Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes (3.15).

Ken Condon’s Irish raider has never raced at this level but is three times a Group 3 victor and would appreciate forecast overnight rain. ULTIMATE The lightly raced AVENUE

gets the nod in the Sky Bet Dash Handicap (2.40), while GET KNOTTED

is taken to repeat his triumph of 2016 in the Win £100K For Free At sportinglife.com.pick7 Now Handicap (2.05).
