Benefits time limit triumph
THOUSANDS of benefit claimants won a landmark legal victory over the Government’s welfare regime.
Judges ruled yesterday a one-month limit on appealing against a benefits decision is unlawful and the time should be 13 months.
The Upper Tribunal said its decision could affect “many thousands” of cases.
Carla Clarke, of the Child Poverty Action Group which brought the legal challenge, said it will “provide justice for families wrongly denied help”.
