Jacko lawyer signed up for Cosby retrial
THE lawyer who successfully defended Michael Jackson on child molestation charges will represent Bill Cosby during his sex assault retrial.
Tom Mesereau, one of the actor’s new legal team, secured an acquittal for the pop star in 2005.
Cosby, 80, faces court again on November 6 over allegedly assaulting Andrea Constand, a former administrator, in his Philadelphia home in 2004.
Jurors were unable to reach a verdict in May at Montgomery county court in Pennsylvania. He denies wrongdoing, saying any contact was consensual.
The star was a huge US TV hit with The Cosby Show in the 1980s before dozens of women accused him of sexual assaults dating from the 1960s.
