With reference to the 17-year-old lad who has always preferred being around older people (Dear Coleen, Sept 13), I can totally relate to how he feels. At his age, I felt far more comfortable around older women (like him) and didn’t get on that well with people my own age. In fact, I still prefer hanging out with older women, as we just have more in common and that’s why it works. MM, Norwich
