LLOYDS STAFF SHIPPED OUT

-

Lloyds bank has been accused of “betraying” 1,000 staff who are being shifted to another firm.

The banking giant is moving the workers from its insurance arm to Diligenta.

Unite, the country’s biggest union, said the staff dealt with Scottish Widows and Clerical Medical work at two offices in Edinburgh and Bristol.

Rob MacGregor, Unite national officer, said: “The wholesale transfer of 1,000 Lloyds Banking Group staff to Diligenta is nothing short of a betrayal of these workers.

“Unite is calling on Lloyds to reconsider this shameful deal and do the right thing by its staff who have worked hard to ensure the business is the success it is today.”

The union said rules for transferring staff did not protect workers’ pensions and non-contractual benefits.
