TOP-FLIGHT clubs meet the RFL today to discuss the possibility of expanding Super League to 14 teams in 2019.
The Super Eights format and Million Pound Game relegation-decider has attracted criticism, and a return to licensing has been mooted.
The clubs are unable to make changes themselves but their proposals will go before an RFL board meeting next month and a full council vote later this year.
Leigh meet Catalans in the Million Pound Game on Saturday with the loser being relegated to the Championship.
But Centurions coach Neil Jukes (above) has been told his job is safe regardless of the result. LEE WESTWOOD is hoping to get a member’s bounce and claim the British Masters title this week.
Westwood played in the Close House golf club members’ fourball earlier this season.
And, from tomorrow, he has brought the British Masters to his home course in Northumberland.
Westwood says that he is in good form, but will modify his game compared to the way he smashes it around with his mates, including member Alan Shearer.
He has pulled together a stellar field, including Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Martin Kaymer.
Westwood said: “I feel I’ve got a real chance. People have said, “You must know the course really well’.
“But when you turn up on a Saturday morning and play with your mates, you’re going to play slightly differently to the way I’m going to play in the tournament this week.
“Obviously, I will know a few of the breaks on the greens and where to miss it and where not to miss it.
“On Thursday, I’m going to go around the course and really clear my mind and look at it from an ‘I’ve never played it before’ kind of aspect.
“I feel like a win is just around the corner. It would be great if it was here this week, but, obviously, whenever it comes, it will be fantastic.”
