Palace off the mark

CRYSTAL PALACE have finally enjoyed a win – against non-league Bromley.

Roy Hodgson’s men won 2-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly to try and boost morale for his team who have lost all six of their Premier League games and failed to score a goal.

It was hardly ideal preparation for Saturday’s trip to Manchester United with Chelsea next after the international break.

Palace have also suffered a blow with striker Christian Benteke ruled out for six weeks through injury.

They have made an enquiry about free agent Rickie Lambert, 35.
