‘Personally, I know my mum is still here as a spirit’

TOWIE star Joey’s mum Tina committed suicide when he was just 10 years old, and his sister Frankie was 13.

Joey did not know his mum had taken her own life until two years later, when a pupil at his school blurted it out. Until then, his dad Donny had said she died in an accident to protect him.

In his autobiography, Being Reem, Joey, 27, said: “Some people reckoned I stopped learning because of what happened to my mum. “Almost like I froze in time. I don’t know about that, but I remember it hitting me really hard.”
